We love a remake! How do you feel about horror movie remakes? Do you love them? Do you hate them? What is a movie you hope gets a remake? What is something that should never have been, or should never be, redone?
I'm a huge fan of remakes. I believe remakes are necessary to bring new fans to older franchises. For the franchises I love, I will always get excited to see them expanded upon or done with a new vision. There are even instances where remakes are done better than originals. We keep coming from this place where we say 'we need new, we don't get new' but the truth is, there is tons of new horror out there that isn't an adaptation or a remake. Remakes are there to tell similar stories with new takes. New writers. New directors. New cast. I will never not support the idea of remakes!
If I had to say which one I think I'd love to see redone, it'd be Jaws. If they redid Jaws with 100% (AND I MEAN ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!!!!!) practical effects, I'd love to see a shark movie done like this in a newer perspective.
The Exorcist is probably a "duh" for being one that shouldn't have been done, but that was a filmmaker situation. I'm really looking forward to the take by Mike Flanagan.
And for anyone wondering, no I did not hate the NOES remake. I actually love that one. 😍
